[ Faculty | Accreditation | Registration] Separated from the hotel and suites by a covered walkway, Beaver Run's Conference Center will be the location for the medical presentations. From Beaver Run's doors you can ski in and ski out to two lifts that put you onto more than 126 ski trails -- perfect terrain for all kinds of skiers.
Our group has a special room block that will be held until February 18, 2007. Stay in one of the hotel rooms or choose a studio with spa bath and mini kitchen. The one and two bedroom units have a fireplace, balcony, fully equipped kitchen and color cable TV. Premium suites also have spa baths. Complimentary garage parking, a grocery/deli and three restaurants are available in the Resort. Kinderhut Childcare Center and Ski School is available for children 6 weeks to 6 years.

Breckenridge , Colorado
Breckenridge is located west of Denver via Interstate 70. It's a scenic drive that crosses no mountain passes. Breckenridge is an historic old mining town which has been preserved and restored with complete Victorian charm. There is a wide variety of over 100 restaurants, nightclubs and retail shops to meet every taste.
Transportation
By Car: Via Interstate 70, 90 miles west of Denver .
By Air: Denver 's International Airport is serviced by most major carriers. Early plane reservations are advised since flights to the area fill early.
Shuttle from Denver to Breckenridge:
Colorado Mountain Express schedules hourly shuttles to Breckenridge from Denver 's International Airport . One-way per person fare is $57. Please indicate you are with the KC Southwest Clinical Society group to receive discounted fare. COURSE INFORMATION Goals and Objectives
This program has been planned for a mixed group of physicians with the emphasis on problems encountered by primary care practitioners. The goal is to provide the physician with current information concerning the diagnosis and management of medical problems encountered in their daily practices. Upon completion of the program, the participants will be able to:

Describe current diagnostic and treatment options for asthma and allergic rhinitis.

Relate facts concerning lung cancer and discuss alternative cancer therapies.

Discuss management of hypertension and review medical ethics regarding specific cases.

Review treatment for foot injuries and injuries from winter sports.

Explain new treatments for diabetes and the evaluation of the endocrine nodule.

Identify factors for cardiac disease in athletes and review the workup for coronary artery disease.

Describe effects of blood transfusion and blood component therapy.
-
Review assessment and the best treatment options for sinusitis and sleep disorders.
Spouses
Spouses are cordially invited to attend any of the sessions at no additional fee. However, if spouses wish to receive CME credit, a registration fee must be paid.
Accreditation
The Kansas City Southwest Clinical Society is accredited by the Missouri State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Kansas City Southwest Clinical Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 16 AMA PRA category 1 credits TM. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
This program is eligible for application for CME credits in Category 2-A of the American Osteopathic Associations' Continuing Medical Education Program.
This program has been reviewed and is acceptable for 16 prescribed hours by the American Academy of Family Physicians.

A block of hotel rooms and condominiums have been reserved at Beaver Run Resort, the site of the meeting. The room block expires February 18, 2007 and reservations received after that date will be booked and confirmed subject to the availability of space.

Rates include daily maid service. Rates, taxes, and fees are subject to change without notice and do not include room taxes and surcharges of 13.9%.
Deposits/Final Payments
A two nights deposit is required within 5 days of booking the reservation. Remaining balance is charged automatically 30 days prior to arrival, unless otherwise instructed. Beaver Run reserves the right to cancel reservations without additional notice if full payment is not received 30 days prior to arrival.
Cancellations
Reservations must be canceled at least 30 days prior to arrival to receive refund less $75 cancellation/ handling fee. If cancellation occurs less than 30 days prior to arrival date, all monies are forfeited. Reduction in length of stay or room type within the 30 day penalty period, no shows, late arrivals, and early departures are considered cancellations, and are therefore nonrefundable.
