Course Description and Objectives

This program is designed for any health care professional who feels the need for an updated review of critical care management. At the conclusion of this course, the registrant should understand the latest management principles and ethical concerns regarding the lecture subjects listed. Upon completion of this program the participant will be able to:

  • Describe current management and new treatment modalities for selected health problems/issues encountered in the critical care area.
  • Discuss the role of selected pharmacological agents used in the critical care setting.
  • Explain the pathophysiology, prevention and management of elected conditions and complications associated with critically ill patients.
  • Interpret results of specific laboratory data used to manage critically ill patients.

Accreditation

The Kansas City Southwest Clinical Society is accredited by the Missouri State Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Kansas City Southwest Clinical Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 14.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

A maximum registration has been established. Advance registration is encouraged. To preregister, please complete the attached Registration Form and return to us with your fee. The fees listed include a course syllabus, coffee breaks and luncheons.
